Japanese airline JAL has partnered with Allianz Travel to offer COVID-19 cover for the travel needs of its passengers.
The ‘JAL COVID-19 Cover’ with sum assured of EUR150,000 ($182,000) covers international travellers for the initial costs for COVID testing, and towards their further treatment in case they contract the virus during their journey. The insurance plan that will commence from 23 December 2020 will be available for travellers until 30 June 2021 will also cover expenses incurred during isolation and repatriation.

A bilingual (English and Japanese) 24-hour support line will be made available for those who are exhibiting certain symptoms of the virus.

As international flights resume JAL has implemented a number of critical measures against COVID-19 to provide its customers a safe and secure travel experience. Passengers who wish to use the service have to fulfil a set of criteria laid down by the airline company the details of which are available on the airlines’ website.
